Göteborg University has approximately 51,000 students and 5,500 employees. It is the largest university in Scandinavia. With its nine faculties and approximately seventy departments, Göteborg University is also the most wide-ranging and versatile university in Sweden, offering unique opportunities for cooperation and development. The distinctive characteristic of university education at Göteborg University is the close interaction between teaching and research.

Students are kept informed of the latest developments in the field they are studying and researchers gain inspiration from their students’ expectations and needs. At Göteborg University research and teaching are regarded as equally important, and there is ongoing pedagogical development work.
The aim of the agreement is to further development of mutual friendly relations between faculties, academic and administrative staff and students, as well as promotion of research, education of young researchers and postgraduate students, and exchange of experience and knowledge acquired in research and education.
Under the agreement the academic cooperation may include:
- Reciprocal exchange of staff and faculty
- Development of curricula
- Reciprocal exchange of students
- Collaborative research projects, and
- Exchange of publications, reports and other academic information.
All agreements between Goteborg University and SPSU will run until November 2009 and may be renewed with mutual consent.

Hogskolan I Boras (UCB) is a university duly constituted under the Swedish laws. It is a young, modern and dynamic university with significant potential for growth. Through its six schools, UCB offers a wide range of educational opportunities to meet tomorrow’s labour needs. Cooperation with business and industry as well as with the local community is as intimate as it is reciprocal. A total of over 600 teaching and administrative staff support the research and development activity at UCB and assist in fulfilling the educational ambitions of nearly 12500 of the university’s students.
