How do I apply for a programme?

All relevant admission details and Application Form can be obtained from the Registrar, SPSU, Bhatewar, Udaipur 313601 or downloaded from the University website here.

When is it time to apply?
 
The application form is availab le at our website and the last date for submission of Application form is May 27, 2008

What is the selection criteria for me to apply?
Candidates must have a pass in 10+2 or its equivalent examination with PCM/PCB securing 60% marks. Admission will be based on the rank obtained at AIEEE, AIPMT or AIEEA 2008.

When and how will I know that I have been granted a place?

Will the education give me a diploma or a university degree?
You will get a B.Tech degree upon successful completion of your programme from the University.

Will I be able to study at your partner universities exchange programs?
Yes, provided you meet the selection/admission criteria of the partner university.

Will there be any placement after graduation?
SPSU will have regular dialogues and contacts with the industry at both academic and anon academic levels. It is hoped that this continuous industry interaction will yield good placement opportunities.

Who will be your bankers?
The Indian Overseas Bank (I O B), Udaipur, are our bankers.
All Payment instruments should be drawn in favour of Sir Padampat Singhania University, payable at Udaipur.

Can I get an Educational Loan?
Yes, I O B will be happy to provide educational loans for students admitted to SPSU.

Can a student pay his/her fees in installments?
Yes, all fees, tuition and hostel, will be paid in two instalments, one each at the beginning of each semester.

ACCOMODATION AND FOOD

Am I guaranteed accommodation if I am accepted?
 
Yes. All programmes are residential and you will have to stay on campus.

How will I be accommodated?
 
All student rooms on campus are twin sharing. The facilities for bath and toilets are shared. All bathrooms will have hot and cold water. The entire campus including student residences will have clean drinking water (reverse osmosis plant). View Details!

How will my room be furnished?
 
Each room will be provided with a bed with mattress, study table and chair, bookshelf and a built-in wardrobe.

Will I be able to access the Internet from my room?
 
Yes. There will be a provision to access the Internet from your room.

What kind of food will the campus provide?
 
On campus only vegetarian food will be provided. Everyone (students, management, faculty and staff) on campus will have the same food.

Will services at campus still be provided during holidays?
 
Yes, but for longer holidays, exciding 7 days, there will be no services. This will be notified at the beginning of each academic session.

How many students will there be on campus?
 
There will be 360 students in campus for the first year.

Will there be any medical facilities on campus?
 
Yes. There will be 24 hours first aid facility provided on the campus besides the school will also have a tie up with a renowned hospital in Udaipur.

Will there be any other facilities in campus?
 
Every floor of each student resident has a common room with a television. There will be recreational facilities like chess, badminton, football and cricket field, jogging track and some Swedish games like kubb. There will be extra curricular activities like clubs for drama, writers and debate. There will also be social welfare programmes like National Cadet Corp (NCC), adult education and skill development for villages etc.

Will I learn any other skills besides engineering?
 
Yes. You will have the chance to take English language, presentation and articulation courses. You will also be able to participate in soft skills development programmes.

Will I be allowed to bring guests to the campus?
 
Yes. However, it would be limited to specific hours and specified permissions. Nonetheless we would encourage you to invite your parents to visit you as often as you feel like.

Does the campus have a library?
 
Yes, there will be a library on campus which will remain open for at least 12 hours initially and subsequently plans are to open the library around the clock. In addition the library would have most of the relevant books for the chosen fields of study and almost all the important international journals relating to your disipline. It will also have an audio visual section. The library would comprise of two distinct sections, one for reference and one where you can borrow books.

How is the safety on the campus?
 
The campus would be extremely safe. The campus will be guarded by the best security guarding company in India. In addition, since it would be a residential campus most of the faculty and staff would stay on the campus hence the environment would be of a large family.

How is the communication to the campus?
 
The campus is located on the 6 lane National Highway 76. There are regular bus services from the city to the university and beyond. The school will provide buses that will drive at fixed timings to and from the campus to the city. At the beginning and end of the semester the school will provide transport from the airport and the railway station and vice versa at cost.

Will mobile phones be accepted on campus?
 
Yes. However, you will not be allowed to bring your phone in academic areas and examination halls.

Will the school have uniforms?
 
No, there will be no uniforms. However, you will be expected to dress properly according to an educational institution.

Will I find other, non campus related services nearby?
 
Services which include utilities like banking, hair dressing, laundry, emergency medical, cafeteria etc would be either on campus or close by.

Do I have to stay on campus?
 
Yes, our campus is fully residential.

Why do I have to stay on campus?
 
SPSU is planned as a fully residential campus. Besides academic soft skill development and other such related skills, like language training, would necessitate staying on campus. In addition hostel life inoculates several team building characteristics.
